Nairobi, Kenya is the home of Africa International University (formerly NEGST). Their programmes have expanded over the past years to include bachelor, master and doctoral levels.
AIU offers a 4-year bachelor’s degree at a very reasonable cost. There is a residential as well as an online (and part-time) option. The online option is more challenging due to a number of factors. The recommended options for a degree are: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Development Studies, and a Bachelor in Translation with a focus on Bible Translation. Post-graduate options are a Masters degree in Biblical Translation or a Doctoral degree in Theology and Translation. Both of these programmes are offered with 4 one-month visits to AIU per year. During those intensive visits, there is teaching and consulting. Other studies are done back at home.
