SIL iDELTA partners with several universities to be able to offer accredited bachelor-level courses. These universities accept the credits from the iDELTA courses and allow students to complete degrees on a full-time or part-time basis.
We recommend that students planning to work in Bible translation or Scripture Engagement consider completing their 3-year B.Th. at South African Theological Seminary (SATS).
Students planning to work in Mother-tongue and Multilingual Education may study at Africa International University (AIU) in Nairobi, Kenya. The four-year degrees most appropriate would be Education (B.Ed.) or Development Studies, each with a concentration on mother-tongue and multilingual education. At this time, we recommend studying on-campus in Nairobi rather than by distance education.
There are several MA and MTh programs that are recommended by SIL International in Africa. The affiliated universities are South African Theological Seminary (SATS), Africa International University (AIU) and University of the Free State (UFS).
